NAME: Seth Ropack
AGE: 28
OCCUPATION: Hogs Head Employee
APPEARANCE:
PERSONALITY:
In the back alley streets of only the poorest wizarding communities drifts a man with not attachment to anyone or anything. He wears dark clothing, never talking to anyone, seemingly focused on his footsteps breaking the silence. The hood of his jacket hangs low over his eyes; a faint glow from the light of his cigarette reveals the man’s five o-clock shadow.
The man’s name is Seth Ropack. And if you were to ask anyone about any of his strange habits, hobbies, likes, or pet peeves you would find … nothing. For a man so young it would seem as if he had been forgotten in time. Seth generally keeps to himself, only talking to the occasional clerk at the liquor store or the local market. Every afternoon Seth walks from his shabby, old apartment to The Hogs Head where he casually slips in the back entrance. Here he bartends through the night, pouring the occasional drink and breaking up the occasional fight.
What he does between the hours of 1 and 5 a.m. after his shift nobody knows. Some think he’s just an alcoholic, a bum … others worry he’s up to darker deeds. Seth doesn’t care what any of them think; he’s just trying to get through his miserable excuse for a life. But with the rising tension surrounding The Ministry and frequent Death Eater attacks in the nearby area, Seth’s life is going to get a bit more complicated.
HISTORY:
Seth was always known for being second-best … or rather he wasn’t known at all. As a young student he attended Durmstrang Institute for Magical Learning in the north. His education had been rigid and cold, and over the years he had been taught various types of powerful magic. Durmstrang had been known to teach “morally questionable” magic known as the Dark Arts, at which Seth greatly excelled. He could only be beaten out by a single wizarding student who always seem to finish just ahead of him; his brother Jacob.
Seth was always trying to live up to the reputation his brother had given the family name, trying to steal some of the attention away, usually failing. During the rise of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, Jacob became a Death Eater and worshiper of the Dark Arts. He begged Seth to come with him. What Seth did that day has kept him walking the outskirts of society ever since. That day he never joined his brother and forces of Voldemort nor fought against what he knew was wrong. He did nothing. Seth could have stopped his brother from killing so many people, he could have tried. But how could he attack his own kin?
Ever since Seth has viewed himself as weak, someone whose emotions stop him from doing what is necessary. Recently Seth lives off the radar and away from people, cutting off any and all emotional attachment. Now he just sits back, watching and waiting. The time will come once again where Seth can change the course of history, and this time he’ll be ready.
