The recent attack by He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named and his followers at the Ministry of Magic has left the future of the Wizarding World unclear. The attack left several dead and still many more injured. Notable deaths include Auror Ember Meadows, who is said to have died at the hands of infamous Death Eater Rodolphus Lestrange. A memorial service is to be held in her name in the near future. Those injured during the attack have been moved to St. Mungo’s Hospital where they are receiving medical attention. The reason behind the attack has yet to be disclosed publicly, but several inside sources suspect that even The Ministry does not fully understand The Dark Lord’s motives behind the attack.
With the Dark Lord at large, many parents have considered pulling their children from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Though Headmaster Dumbledore could not be reached for comment, a public statement has been released, assuring parents of the safety precautions being taken to ensure their children’s continued safety. But with The Ministry in desperate need of repair and a shortage of medical supplies, it is no wonder the masses have become frantic. Luckily, The Minister of Magic has already devised a plan for these problems: a fundraiser.
Early next week, the Minister has planned to hold a mass fundraiser to raise money for both Ministry repairs and St. Mungo’s. Though the event is still being planned, it will be held at Hogsmeade Village. There will be refreshment booths and games set up throughout the village and all stores will be giving 30% of the days sales to The Ministry and St. Mungo’s Hospital. And, though we cannot confirm it at the present time, there have been rumors of a performance by chart-topping band The Weird Sisters. The event will be open to the entire Wizarding Community. Hogwarts students are encouraged to attend.
With the event occurring so soon after the attack, many are questioning the safety of such an event. The Minister has assured that there will be heightened security to avoid any potential threats. The Minister went on to state that the event is exactly what the Wizarding community needs to escape the shadow of the recent attack, while simultaneously proving that we will not be scared away by the guerilla tactics of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Though we would like to echo the Minister’s sentiments, we, like the rest of the Wizarding community, remain unconvinced.
