RULES

Disregarding the rules will result in a warning. Continuing to disregard the rules will result in banning.

01. Respect the other members. Just be nice and polite to them, as they should be to you.

02. Keep the violence and language (and anything else that falls in/around those areas) to a minimum, please. This is a PG-13 RP. Bad-language, if used appropriately, will be tolerated. Cussing for the sake of cussing is stupid- don't do it.

03. SPELL CHECK. It doesn't bite, really. And use proper grammar!

04. Post more than one line when you're role playing. The role-play is not about posting as often as possible-- thought should be put into each post.

05. In your profile, fill in the gender of your character, not you.

06. YES. Register with the name of your character
NO. Do NOT register as "spaceman 26," when your character's name is John Smith.

07. Your character can be in a maximum of three places at once. No more than that, please.

08. When you type dialogue, please type it in "quotations", NOT in bold, italics, etc.

09. Post in black font, no matter how pretty the other colors might look. Also, please post in the standard size font.

10. NO. Your OC (original character) cannot be related to or have a history with a canon character! Harry Potter's long-lost twin sister with matching scar will not be making a glorified appearance, thanks.

11. If you would like your OC to have a romantic relationship with a canon character or otherwise, go ahead and pursue it. You cannot, however, claim a character as your romantic interest.

12. Likewise, your original character cannot claim to have a past of any kind with a canon character unless the member playing said character is okay with it AND it makes sense within the context of the universe.

13. One user can have no more than two primary canon characters. If you choose to have more than one primary canon character, try to pick ones that would not be interacting with one another often-- this is role-playing, not fanfiction. One user can, however, have as many original characters as they want. But don't take on more than you can handle.

14. Your original character should not have an unnatural amount of knowledge regarding certain things. For instance, it would be silly if your character knew how to get into the Shrieking Shack via the Whomping Willow. It just isn't common knowledge.

15. Users playing primary canon characters should be willing to devote a reasonable amount of time to the role-play. If you're never on, we will try to contact you. If we can't, we'll have to put the character up for grabs again.

16. Regarding avatars & signatures: avatars should be no bigger than 200x200 pixels. Banners in signatures should be no bigger than 200 pixels in height.

17. Regarding canon characters: Don't think you can be true to the character? Don't apply for them, please. When you apply for a character, original or canon, please include the word "heliopath" in your application. This is to make sure that you have read the rules.

18. When posting in an occupied thread, in which you intend to begin a different role-play, please wait at least 4 days after the most recent post to do so and make sure, at the top of your first post, you type New Day, so we know you're starting a new roleplay!

19. DO NOT POST IF WE HAVE NOT ACCEPTED YOUR APPLICATION.
