I've noticed that there are a good many pure-bloods strolling about and I just wanted to clarify that being a pure-blood is very rare and is not the same as having wizard parents. In fact, the only pure-blooded families in the HP universe are the following:
I'm not placing anyone at fault for not knowing this. I don't feel like JKR made it particularly clear that pure-bloods and having wizard parents aren't the same.

- Crouch family
- Gaunt family (Voldemort's lineage)
- Lestrange family (married into by Bellatrix Black)
- Longbottom family
- Malfoy family
- Weasley family
