MINISTRY DECISIONS CREATE CHAOTIC CONTROVERSY
WITCHES AND WIZARDS TAKE DIFFERENT POLITICS VIEWS REGARDING MINISTRY’S PROTECTION PROCESS

In response to the recent Death Eater attacks (the majority of which have resulted in injury or death of civilians), the Ministry of Magic has begun preemptive raids on witches and wizards suspected of alignment with He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. The Ministry believes that acting now will prevent future attacks of His followers. These guerilla raids have been met with heavy criticism; some claim that these raids are being carried out without the evidence proving their loyalty to He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. In addition, civilians have been injured in several of these raids.
A group of dissenters has begun to form in response to the Ministry’s actions. The “Resistance,” as the group is called, feels the authorities have no right to attack people solely based on the idea that they might be involved with the Death Eaters, while others rally behind the Ministry, believing the current course of action to be the safest one.
“It’s the only way to keep us out of harm’s way,” an anonymous Ministry supported declared. “If someone looks suspicious, they should be questioned. I don’t want my family put in danger because some people feel it’s unfair to jump to conclusions about anyone that has the potential to be involved. That’s not unfair. What’s unfair is how long it has taken for actions to be made. The death toll is already too high. If these raids help to take down You-Know-Who, than any who opposes them is working in the disinterest of the Wizarding Community.”
Overhearing the Ministry supporter’s opinion, a Resistance supporter piped up. “I believe that these raids are reminiscent of the attacks made by the very Death Eaters that the Ministry is trying to eliminate. By doing this, the Ministry is stooping down to the opposing side’s level and what good is that? You can’t fight fire with fire. Besides,” the Resistance supporter added, “Why should we harm innocent people? The Ministry’s actions aren’t exactly keeping us safe if civilians are getting hurt—and by the Ministry itself! The Minister can’t let this continue; it’s just not right!”
Views of right and wrong are being tested all through the Wizarding World as witches and wizards scramble to decide what the safest and most practical approach to the Death Eater attacks is. Where do you stand?[/font]
